Stig Lindberg (1916–1982) was a prominent Swedish designer renowned for his contributions to ceramics, glass, textiles, industrial design, painting, and illustration.
He was a key postwar designer known for his whimsical ceramics and elegant tableware during his long tenure at Gustavsberg pottery, where he became art director in 1949. Lindberg’s playful designs and unique forms brought him fame. Educated in painting at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, he worked at Gustavsberg from 1937 until 1980.
His work was celebrated in a retrospective at Stockholm’s Nationalmuseum from 2006 to 2007.
